Let your creativity flow with this demonstration of abstracted watercolor techniques. Colors will mingle in magical ways and ordinary materials like salt and plastic wrap will transform watercolor in unique patterns. Learn how you can use watercolor to create exciting and expressive artworks.

Dawn Evans Scaltreto is a professional fine artist, public artist and illustrator whose clients include the Boston Children’s Hospital, the Boston Museum of Science and Illuminations, Inc. She is a signature member and Past President of the New England Watercolor Society and an award winning artist. A resident of Watertown, Massachusetts, for 37 years, she is active in many local arts organizations including Watertown Art Association and the Mosesian Center for the Arts. She is on the Yard Art Committee of Watertown, which launched a family-friendly temporary public art project that over 130 families participated in as artists, with thousands of visitors over the course of the exhibition, which ran from March 1 – April 4, 2021. She teaches various classes at New Art Center and at the Watertown and other local Senior Centers, and many adult, youth and intergenerational arts programs and courses. Her recent projects include creating new installation artwork for Boston Children’s Hospital and painting a “Play Me, I’m Yours” Street Piano featuring Penguins in the Rainforest. Her work has been featured on WCVB’s Chronicle and in print, including The Artist’s Magazine and Watercolor Magic magazine. Her work may be found on the Web at dawnarts.com.
