I cut up perfectly good fabric and put it back together. I am an art quilter. Sometimes sewn, sometimes collaged, but always layered and stitched, the colors and textures of textiles are my never-ending inspiration. I’m drawn to bright colors and abstract lines but am inconstant and enjoy an occasional trip into realistic portrayals of the world around me. In short, I love to play, learn, teach, collaborate, and not follow the rules.

I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI but transplanted myself to Boston where I immediately felt at home. After careers in science, marketing, and writing, I settled into a life of fabric. Sewing functional objects was my gateway but I was drawn to the decorative side of fiber and have never looked back.

My work has been shown in galleries and shows around the USA, including: Newton Art Association, Paradise City Arts Festival, Newton FenceArt, Grand Rapids ArtPrize, New England Quiltfest, and other local and national juried shows.

And I heartily thank my family for putting up with endless piles of fabric and thread clippings.
