Evan Morse is a sculptor working in the traditional mediums of clay, plaster and marble. Morse grew up in Newton and studied at Wheaton College, Boston University and various programs in Florence and Carrara, Italy. Working primarily with the human figure, his sculptures are often narrative and are inspired by historical references while containing modern subject matter. He is particularly fond of relief sculpture and was recognized by the National Sculpture Society with the Dexter Jones Award for bas-relief. Morse is a recipient of two grants from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and a fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
