Monotype printmaking allows me to combine my love of drawing, painting and collage to create one of a kind images. Unlike traditional printmaking that focused on creating editions of identical works, monotype printmaking produces one unique print at a time.

I am intrigued by the layers of our life experiences and this is reflected in my multilayered prints. Most of my work is overprinted many times to build up layers and transparencies. Recently I have been exploring using a gel plate to create small images that I then combine to create larger pieces.

My work is informed by the natural world. I am an active, teaching member of the Nature Printing Society and much of my art includes the use of natural objects, especially leaves, seeds and shells. My wearable monotype shirts reflect this also.

The Zum Gali Gali rubber stamps help others explore the magic of being printmakers. The imagery reflects our interest in our environment, Judaic culture and the world of whimsy.

My art has been exhibited extensively in New England while Zum Gali Gali stamps are used throughout the world.

Retired after teaching art in the Newton Public Schools for 40 years, I have been teaching adults and children at the New Art Center as well as presenting workshops across the country. I have learned as much from my students as I have from college and graduate school classes at Harvard, Brandeis and the Massachusetts College of Art. Art teaching, like art making, enriches my life!
