Painting, dancing, drawing, film making, are explorations of the motion and emotion of the figure, never the execution of fixed ideas.  Line is core, sometimes infused by color or music or both.  But in these studies of the body in space, in motion or in repose, on film, ice, or paper, though in life by far more fair, is still the hope that an empathy may be evoked–and perhaps a sense of wonder at the strangeness of being.
