Ellen Kaplovitz Photography

Come to the home studio that I share with my husband, digital artist Marcus Parsons, to view three categories of portrait photography:

• Classic portraits that capture human nature at a moment in time and thus become timeless,

• Images of guards and other workers who protect art in museums and art sites around the world,

• Photographs of photographers photographing others. What is the effect on the viewer when the photographer is in the frame? Is their presence equivalent to an artist’s signature? Do they become part of the story in a more obvious way rather than a documentarian who created the image but is outside of the art?
