My work is informed by nature and my fascination with it. I start with a feeling or idea, then think about how I will interpret that idea or feeling into a monotype, monoprint, or mixed media piece. Every work is unique and the result of an adventure.

When I’m printing it is the unlimited possibilities and the uncertainly of what exactly will appear, as well as the print being the reverse of what I was working on, that makes the monotype/monoprint process so exciting.

I am fascinated by the images that are being taken by the Webb and Hubble telescopes. I see their influence in my current work – the mysteriousness of the cosmos, “dust” threads, “black holes”, “empty space”,….

At Open Studios I will be selling artwork in a variety of sizes, as well as notecards which use original monotypes; and eco-dyed silk scarves.

If you want to make your own monotypes, I am teaching classes/workshops at these locations: “Monotype Printing With a Press” at the: New Art Center in Newtonville, MA; Eliot School in Jamaica Plain, MA. I also teach a one-session workshop “Monotype Printing using the Gel Plate” at the Eliot School. I love sharing my enthusiasm for the printmaking process and its creativeness with others.
