I continue my observational investigation into color and light. It’s a fascination that I explore through the still life genre. My “still life” paintings arise out from visual disarrangement, commotion and confusion. I impose order and compose a state.

My subject matter can be quirky. My color choices are unrelenting. My depictions borders on believable realism and pop art. My compositions are arranged for movement. Often there is not any one focal point. Your eye will travel through its own path.

I position each element of the painting, including background, surface textures and negative spaces, as a claim on your attention. Nothing is meant to recede into neutrality. Objects are legible but not privileged (they are, after all, humble objects that serve).

Most importantly, with all the paintings’ tensions, colors, and complexities I leave room for your narrative and your reflections on the presented moment of my painting.
