My luminous seascape and landscape series evolved from trying to capture the ever changing light in the sky, reflections on water, and illusions created by shadows. I also enjoy experimenting with photography, using Sennalier pastels on archival museum paper, to enhance the images with both texture and color.

Mostly self taught, Kate learned the importance of composition from her Dad in the family darkroom at age 12 and later worked for a photography and design studio in Aspen Colorado, studied art for a year in the Prado Museum, then studied locally with Wolf Kahn (Pastel), George Nick (Impressionist Oil Painting), Paul Rahilly (Still Life techniques), and Landscape Oil Painting with Ed Stitt.

Her work has been accepted into numerous juried shows by curators including: Kathryn French- Danforth Museum, Dina Deitsch- Decordova Museum, Nina Gara Bozicnik- Currier Museum of Art, Charles Movalli-American Artist Magazine, and Constance, Kantar, Kartar Gallery, among others. Kate’s work- “The World on Fire” recently received an award by Kaveh Mojtabai of ArtScope Magazine. Gallery shows include: Martha’s Vineyard, Sarasota, Los Angeles, Westport and Hartford, CT. Work purchased for Private and corporate collections include: MA, RI, CT, ME, NY, FL, CA, CO
